A Hungarian national has pleaded guilty to 19 out of 63 charges in a criminal case related to illegally advertising and selling Greek Cypriot-owned properties in North Cyprus. This marks the first guilty plea in a case of this kind.

The trial, which resumed today at the Nicosia Criminal Court, involves two Hungarian nationals accused of engaging in real estate transactions in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Court documents indicate that the properties in question belonged to Greek Cypriots before 1974.

The defendant, whose identity has not been disclosed, is accused of illegally promoting and facilitating sales in real estate developments named Phuket, Hawaii, Bahamas, and Aloha in North Cyprus. The total value of these transactions is estimated at €271,744.

The second Hungarian national implicated in the case is scheduled to appear in court on April 11 at 09:00. On the same day, the court is expected to deliver its verdict for the first defendant.
