Avakas Gorge Temporarily Closed Due to Adverse Weather
Avakas Gorge, one of Cyprus’s most famous natural landmarks, has been temporarily closed to visitors due to heightened risks caused by severe weather conditions.
The Forestry Department announced that the closure took effect on the evening of December 18 and will remain in place until further notice.
- “Due to increased water flow, slippery terrain, and the danger of falling rocks and debris, Avakas Gorge in the Akamas National Forest Park is closed to the public until the situation is deemed safe,” the announcement stated.
The Forestry Department has apologized for any inconvenience caused and urged the public to prioritize their safety during this time.
