Every Second Polish Tourist in Cyprus Chooses Paphos
The number of tourists from Poland visiting Paphos is on the rise. This summer, up to 20 flights to the island are expected weekly.
According to official data from the competent authorities of Cyprus and Poland, in 2023, the number of Polish tourists arriving in Cyprus exceeded 273,500 people, which is 45% more than in 2022. Interestingly, a significant portion of these travelers prefer Paphos: experts estimate that 49% of Polish visitors to Cyprus choose to stay in Paphos.
It is also reported that the air connection between Paphos and Poland is the best it has been in the last 30 years. In the upcoming summer season, up to 20 flights to Cyprus per week will be operated from six major Polish airports.
These statistics are already being utilized by tourism agencies in Paphos to establish a foundation for further cooperation between the two countries. The Paphos Regional Tourism Development and Promotion Company, as part of its 2024 action plan, has recently participated in presentations in Warsaw, Krakow, and Katowice.
This initiative, led by the Ministry of Tourism, aims to inform travel agents about promoting Paphos as a year-round tourist destination. According to ETAP, the Polish market has become a priority: in recent years, the number of arrivals has significantly increased, mainly due to the budget airline Ryanair's flights to Paphos.
