Cyprus and Bahrain discussed tourism development and air communication
Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus, Kostas Kummis, and Ambassador Khaled Yousef Ahmed Al Jalakhma from the Kingdom of Bahrain discussed tourism development and air communication between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of Tourism of Cyprus, during the meeting held in Nicosia, opinions were exchanged on tourism relations between the two countries. Special emphasis was placed on air communication issues. Currently, the Kingdom of Bahrain operates weekly flights to Cyprus.
Kostas Kummis highlighted the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and suggested that tour operators from both countries establish closer ties to expand cooperation.
He also focused on the history of air communication between the two countries, which have had direct flights since 1976.
According to the minister, enhancing cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain is among the priorities for Cyprus, considering both the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and the fact that Manama Airport serves as a hub. The minister also mentioned the extensive flight program of Bahrain's national carrier, Gulf Air.
The ministry noted that both sides considered the meeting productive and agreed to continue discussions on the topics raised in the coming weeks.
