Cyprus and Greece to Sign Cultural Cooperation Agreement
Greek Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni is visiting Cyprus on an official trip. During her visit, a bilateral agreement on cultural cooperation between Cyprus and Greece will be signed on August 23.
The day's itinerary includes a visit to the Costas Argyriou Museum in Mazotos at 1:00 PM, where the museum's curator, Andreas Hadjiloukas, will give a tour of the exhibition “Kassialos: From Light to Shadow.”
At 7:30 PM, Minister Mendoni will visit the Municipality of Nicosia. There, Nicosia's Mayor, Charalambos Prousos, will guide her on a tour of the Green Line and the newly renovated Old Market.
The signing ceremony for the cultural cooperation agreement will take place on Friday at noon at the Faneromeni Library in Cyprus. This will follow a visit to the Cyprus Museum at 11:00 AM and a meeting with the National Committee for the Prevention of Illegal Trafficking of Cultural Heritage.
Early Friday morning, the Greek Minister will lay a wreath at the Macedonitissa Cemetery, meet with the Archbishop of Cyprus, Georgios, and in the afternoon, she will visit the Levant Museum and the Cultural Foundation of the Bank of Cyprus, where she will view the exhibition “Island of Cyprus: History – Memory – Reality.”
Minister Lina Mendoni’s visit to Cyprus will conclude on Saturday with a tour of the Larnaca District Archaeological Museum.
