Cypriot Breaks Guinness World Record for the Fourth Time with Glasses on His Head
Aristotelis Valeritis, one of the most famous glass dancers from Kato Paphos, Cyprus, has set a new record for the fourth time. This time, he successfully balanced 28 glass cups stacked one on top of the other on his head. A video of his impressive performance has been shared on social media.
Valeritis shared that achieving this record took him two years of rigorous training. It was an especially difficult challenge because Guinness World Records rules prohibit the use of additional supports between the stacked glasses. Recently, he received official confirmation from Guinness that his achievement had been recognized.
The total height of the structure he balanced was 2.45 meters, and it weighed 9.8 kg. Remarkably, he used no props other than the glasses themselves.
Aristotelis Valeritis has been performing glass dance for 30 years, and he was the first to enter the Guinness World Records in this unique discipline. In 1997, he set his first record by balancing 134 glasses on a tray. The following year, he broke his own record with 169 glasses.
In 2023, he achieved another milestone by balancing 319 wine glasses on his head, a record that was previously held by fellow Cypriot Dinos Kantis from Aradippou.
"I am proud of the new Guinness World Record I achieved with my partners in traditional dance, balancing 28 glasses on my head," Valeritis wrote on social media.
