Cyprus Police Boost Easter Patrols to Ensure Public Safety
The Cyprus Police have stepped up patrols ahead of the Easter holiday. On the night of Holy Monday and into the early hours of Holy Tuesday, officers carried out a total of 235 inspections across both indoor venues and open public spaces.
According to an official police statement, 125 individuals were checked during the nighttime patrols. While no major incidents were reported, police did respond to several minor fires in open areas.
This increased presence is part of a nationwide effort to prevent disturbances—particularly among youth—during the festive period, a time traditionally associated with a rise in teenage misbehavior and delinquency. Officers on duty engaged directly with young people, offering guidance and raising awareness to help deter risky or unlawful behavior.
Authorities have confirmed that these checks will continue throughout the Easter period, with a strong focus on maintaining public order and safety.
