A new hunting season started in Cyprus last weekend, but hunters were left disappointed after the first day, citing poor weather conditions and a lack of game.

According to Giorgos Theodosiou, President of the Paphos Hunting Federation and Vice President of the Cyprus Hunting Federation, the first day of the season was marred by extreme weather, making it difficult for hunters. For most, the first outing of the year ended in frustration.

Experts note that, compared to previous seasons, the number of partridges hunted has remained steady. However, the sharp decline in the number of francolins and hares has left many hunters disappointed.

It’s also important to note that hunting for hare, partridge, and pheasant will be allowed every Sunday and Wednesday from today until December 22, as well as on Friday, December 27, and Sunday, December 29.
