Relics of Saint Avvakum Relocated to Fterikoudi
The holy relics of Saint Avvakum have been relocated to the Church of Saint Nicholas in the village of Fterikoudi.

This significant event took place on the feast day of Saint Avvakum and Saint Porphyrios, under the direction of Metropolitan Isaias of Tamassos and Orinis.
According to a statement from the Metropolis, “Amid an atmosphere of deep emotion and reverence among the faithful, the holy relics of Saint Avvakum were returned to their original location until a new sanctuary is established in the area.”
The relics will remain in the Church of Saint Nicholas for pilgrimages until the reopening of the Saint Avvakum Monastery. Even after the monastery reopens, part of the relics will stay in the church, honoring traditional ecclesiastical customs.
The Saint Avvakum Monastery has been closed for several months following a controversy, leaving the faithful awaiting its restoration.
