In Cyprus, the seventh suspect has been arrested in a case involving counterfeit documents from Turkey
The Republic of Cyprus Police have arrested the seventh suspect in a conspiracy and counterfeit document production case. On Thursday evening, a 25-year-old man was detained.
Earlier, six more individuals, aged 21 to 44, were arrested in connection with the case of counterfeit driver's licenses from other European countries and residence permits in the Republic of Cyprus. All of them will remain in custody according to the court's decision.
Recall that the first arrests were made last Thursday, March 21, around 3:30 p.m. A 41-year-old suspect arrived at a collection point in Paphos, where he received a package sent to Cyprus from Turkey. Shortly afterward, two more young men entered the same point and received another package.
Immediately after receiving the parcels, all three men were detained by Paphos police officers. During the inspection, two driver's licenses from European countries under different names, as well as residence permits in Cyprus, were found in the packages.
All three suspects were arrested by police officers and taken to the Paphos District Court the next day, which issued a detention order for further investigation.
Subsequently, the police obtained evidence against four more suspects. All of them were arrested this week. The last, seventh accomplice, was caught by the police yesterday afternoon.
