Cyprus Gears Up for the Spring Carnival Season
As spring and Easter approach, the carnival season is set to kick off across Cyprus. Cities throughout the island are preparing for a series of parades and masquerades. Festivities will take place in Nicosia, Paphos, Larnaca, and Limassol.
On Sunday, February 23, Nicosia will host its annual carnival parade in Aglandjia. The procession will start at 11:30 AM on Kyrenia Avenue and make its way to the Road Safety Park.
In Paphos, two carnival parades will be held from late February to early March. The Akamas Municipality will also hold a celebration on February 23 along Michalaki Kyprianu Avenue.
On Saturday, March 1, the Municipality of Paphos will hold a grand celebration with the Paphos Carnival 2025 parade. The festivities will begin at 3:00 PM, and the streets will be filled with colorful floats, marching bands, and groups in vibrant carnival costumes. Larnaca’s first carnival parade of the season will also take place on February 23 at Finikoudes.
The biggest carnival event of the island, as is tradition, will be in Limassol. After two weeks of street events, children's parades, contests, free concerts, and exhibitions, Limassol will host its grand Sunday carnival parade on March 2 at 12:00 PM. The parade will feature hundreds of floats, dancers, and musicians.
