Coffee Prices Drop in Cyprus
According to Eurostat, the statistical service of the European Union, the cost of coffee has decreased in Cyprus over the past year. The country is now one of the 12 EU member states where coffee prices have fallen during the same period.
From March 2023 to March 2024, prices for the beverage dropped by 2.3%. Despite this decline, the average price of coffee on the island remains higher than in other European countries.
According to Cystat, the Cypriot statistical service, the average price of a regular cappuccino is 3.27 euros, which is higher than prices in France, Belgium, Germany, or Italy.
In addition, coffee prices have dropped significantly more in several other EU member states compared to Cyprus. In Finland and Lithuania, prices fell by more than 15%, while in Denmark, they decreased by 7.5%.
Despite this overall decrease, the average coffee price in the EU increased by one percent during the same period.
This increase was driven by countries such as Croatia, Romania, and Bulgaria, where coffee prices rose by 7.4%, 6.8%, and 6.6%, respectively.
