In Cyprus, the total number of voters for the June elections has been calculated
For the upcoming European Parliament elections in June, 706,534 voters have registered in Cyprus. This was reported by the Chief Executive Officer of the Electoral Process, Elikkos Ilias.
It is noted that among the total number of registered voters, 568,608 are Cypriots, including 837 Turkish Cypriots holding Republic of Cyprus identity cards.
The breakdown of voters by districts showed that in the Nicosia district, 220,736 voters are registered, including 143 Turkish Cypriots.
In Famagusta, there are 33,879 registered voters, including eight Turkish Cypriots. In Larnaca, there are 99,342 voters, 249 of whom are Turkish Cypriots. In Limassol, there are 159,680 registered voters, 238 of whom are Turkish Cypriots, and in Paphos, there are 54,971 registered voters, including 199 Turkish Cypriots.
The special list of voters of European citizens for the elections of officials of local authorities includes 21,640 voters, of which 4,048 are in Nicosia, 2,669 in Famagusta, 2,525 in Larnaca, 3,123 in Limassol, and 9,275 in Paphos.
In addition, a total of 4,725 voters will vote for European Parliament deputies from abroad.
It is worth noting that earlier, the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Cyprus officially announced that the elections to the European Parliament and local authorities will take place on Sunday, June 9th. The deadline for candidate submissions was set for April 24th.
Polling stations will operate in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Komotini, Volos, Heraklion, Ioannina, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Brussels.
