In Cyprus, a series of thefts from the apartments of elderly individuals has taken place.

The police in Cyprus have arrested two women suspected of committing a series of thefts from the homes of elderly people. The detained individuals are linked to at least two criminal incidents.

The police were alerted to two theft cases by two elderly residents of Limassol. Around 10:00 on December 8, two women visited the home of an 80-year-old woman, requesting her assistance in picking oranges from a tree in her yard.

Trusting the women, the elderly lady agreed and went out to the yard to help them. One of the women, claiming to need the restroom, remained alone in the house. After the guests left, the elderly woman discovered that her wallet, containing 70 euros in cash, credit cards, and personal documents, was missing.

The second incident occurred on the same day, around 12:30, in the same city area. This time, the 86-year-old pensioner became the victim of the fraudsters. After the two women's visit, the apartment owner lost her wallet, which held 50 euros and personal documents.

On suspicion of involvement in the thefts, the police arrested two women, aged 42 and 27, against whom arrest warrants were issued.
