In Cyprus, voter registration is underway for the EU and local elections
The Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Cyprus has urged citizens to timely submit applications for voter registration for the upcoming local and European Parliament elections. The deadline for submitting applications is set for April 2.
Elections are scheduled to take place simultaneously on June 9. All citizens of the Republic of Cyprus and European Union citizens residing in Cyprus who have turned 18 by the day of the elections, born before June 9, 2006, will have the right to vote.
Individuals aged 25 and older can register online on the website choice.gov.cy. Paper applications can be obtained at local branches of district administrations, Citizen Service Centers, and post offices, or downloaded from the Electoral Service website.
Voting stations will also be open abroad: the ministry has announced the opening of stations in Greece, the United Kingdom, and Belgium.
Those wishing to open a polling station in their area can submit an application to the ministry. To open a polling station in a locality, a total of 50 voters must submit applications. Such declarations can also be submitted until April 2.
