In Cyprus, Maslenitsa celebrations took place
On Sunday, Maslenitsa was celebrated in Cyprus. Maslenitsa festivities with songs, games, workshops for children, a fair, round dances, and pancakes took place near the building of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Nicosia.
As reported by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Cyprus, the event organizers prepared a rich program and plenty of entertainment for both children and adults. All attendees were able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a true Russian holiday.
In particular, the creative groups of the RCC "Pioneer" performed a soulful concert program. Bright moments of the celebration also included a collective round dance and a traditional Maslenitsa carousel made of colorful ribbons around a pole.
The celebration was accompanied by a fair where everyone could buy various pastries, sweets, honey, souvenirs, or taste hot pancakes.
Participants in the festivities could also visit an exhibition featuring displays "Clothing of the peoples of Russia" and "History and traditions of Maslenitsa."
It is worth noting that today, March 18, in Cyprus, Green Monday is celebrated.
