On March 15th, a three-day voting process for the Russian presidential elections will commence in Cyprus. Russian citizens residing on the island will be able to cast their votes in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, Ayia Napa, and several other cities. For the first time, voting will also be possible in the northern part of the country.

Polling stations in Cyprus will be open from 08:00 to 20:00 in all significant cities of the republic. In Nicosia, voting is organized at the Russian Embassy and the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC), while in Limassol and Paphos, it will take place at the honorary consulates. The addresses of other polling stations can be found here.

According to TASS, the total number of Russian compatriots residing in Cyprus exceeds 120,000 people.

According to Dmitry Apraksin, the Chairman of the Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots in Cyprus (CCRC), the security of the voting process will be ensured by the Cyprus Police.

"I want to note the high level of preparation for the process. In particular, for the first time, voting will be possible in the northern part of the country, where, according to some estimates, about 50,000 compatriots reside. This is thanks to our diplomats and the personal initiative of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Cyprus, Murat Zyazikov," Dmitry Apraksin said.

It is worth mentioning that from March 15th to 17th, Russian citizens will be able to vote in the Russian presidential elections in 144 countries at 295 polling stations.

It should be noted that earlier, early voting for the Russian presidential elections was completed abroad. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about 40,000 compatriots residing in 51 countries took advantage of this opportunity.

According to the decision of the CEC, early voting started on March 1st in Cyprus, and from March 2nd in Australia, Algeria, Libya, and other countries.

Cyprus became the leader in the number of Russians voting abroad, with seven early voting stations organized.

According to Dmitry Apraksin, the preparation for these elections in the country was conducted at a high level, which was largely due to the efforts of Russian diplomats.
