Zero VAT on Selected Products Returns to Cyprus
Starting Monday, November 4, Cyprus will reintroduce a zero VAT rate on a range of products and goods. This includes dairy products, vegetables, fruits, and essential items.
According to local media reports citing the tax department, the items included in the list are infant formula, various vegetables and fruits, as well as diapers for both children and adults and women's hygiene products.
The vegetables eligible for the zero VAT include potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, gherkins, zucchini, eggplants, leafy greens, various types of onions, garlic, legumes, all types of cabbage, turnips, pumpkins, radishes, and other edible root vegetables.
Fruits that will also benefit from the zero VAT include apples, pears, bananas, all types of citrus fruits, grapes, figs, melons, watermelons, as well as apricots, peaches, cherries, nectarines, plums, strawberries, and kiwis.
This zero VAT on the aforementioned products will remain in effect until December 31, 2025.
