Sales of petroleum products have increased in Cyprus
According to the latest data published by the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat), there was growth in petroleum product sales in April. In total, 115,028 tons of fuel were sold, which is 9% more than in April 2023.
The surge is attributed to a significant increase in shipments across several categories, particularly maritime fuel and aviation kerosene, which increased by 27.5% and 6.4% respectively. Additionally, there was a notable increase in the sales of both heavy and light fuel oil, which grew by 59.3% and 39.1% respectively.
Other products also showed growth: automotive gasoline and road diesel fuel increased by 6.9% and 4.9% respectively.
However, kerosene sales declined by 59.9%, furnace fuel by 30.3%, and liquefied petroleum gases by 3.1%.
Despite this decrease, sales at gas stations increased by 4.6%, reaching 53,037 tons.
For the cumulative period from January to April 2024, the total sales volume increased by 2.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
It was previously reported in mid-May that retail prices for gasoline and diesel fuel at gas stations in the Republic of Cyprus had decreased. The price difference at gas stations reaches 5-6 euros per full tank.
Retail prices for gasoline and diesel fuel at gas stations can be tracked on the website of the Ministry of Energy, Trade, and Industry of the Republic of Cyprus.
