18 Kilos of Cannabis Found in Package from the U.S. Instead of Trousers
Authorities in Cyprus have seized a suspicious parcel that was supposed to contain trousers—but turned out to be filled with drugs instead. The package, which arrived from the United States via Greece, contained 18 kilograms of cannabis.
According to police, a customs officer flagged the parcel for inspection at Larnaca Airport after reviewing the shipping documents.
The package was declared as containing men’s and children’s trousers. However, during a search conducted in the presence of a courier company representative, officers found 30 vacuum-sealed nylon bags filled with a green, dry plant-like substance—later confirmed to be cannabis.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency was immediately informed. Its officers arrived at the inspection site and verified that the contents were indeed cannabis.
The parcel was confiscated by the Customs Department and handed over to the Larnaca Police Department for further investigation.
