Cyprus Launches Online Portal for First-Grade Enrollment
The Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth (YPAN) of the Republic of Cyprus has announced the launch of the eDEA (Electronic Education Management) project. For the first time, all registrations, and transfers for first-grade students in primary schools will be processed exclusively through the online eDEA portal.
According to the ministry, eDEA is one of the largest e-government initiatives in the education sector. It is being implemented as part of the "THALEIA 2021-2027" cohesion policy program, co-financed by the EU, and in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy.
After a successful pilot implementation of electronic registration at three secondary schools in June 2024, the project is now expanding to all public primary schools in Cyprus.
To enroll first-grade students, parents or guardians must create a CY Login account by January 6, 2025. After that, they can visit the eDEA online portal at https://edea.schools.ac.cy to set up their profile in the online registration system.
Online registrations will be accepted from January 7 to January 19, 2025. Transfers will also be processed through the portal from January 23 to January 26, 2025.
In the future, the portal will also handle registrations and transfers for first-grade, middle, and high school students for the 2025-2026 academic year.
For more information, interested individuals can visit the ministry’s website at https://www.moec.gov.cy or contact the eDEA service office at 22 558618.
