In October, the volume of vehicles entering Nicosia during the morning rush hour dropped by 12%, with roughly 380,000 cars traveling along the Nicosia ring road over the month.

The Department of Public Works, which tracks daily traffic flow through sensors on the main roads of the capital, reported these findings.

According to the department, daily traffic on the Nicosia ring road averaged about 17,000 vehicles in both directions.

During peak morning hours from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m., around 2,600 vehicles were recorded moving in both directions.

Preliminary measurements show a 12% decrease in traffic during the morning rush hour on the Nicosia-Limassol highway at the city entrance and a 10% drop along Spyros Kyprianou Avenue.
