Nikos Christodoulides Meets António Guterres in Jordan
President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres. The negotiations took place at a conference in Jordan dedicated to addressing the severe humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.
According to local media reports, during the meeting, the UN chief expressed his commitment to efforts aimed at resuming negotiations on the Cyprus issue to the leader of the Greek Cypriots.
The UN Secretary-General also mentioned that he is in contact with his envoy to Cyprus, María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the humanitarian corridor Amalthea, intended to provide aid to Gaza.
The conference, jointly organized by the UN, Jordan, and Egypt, is being held on the shores of the Dead Sea. It is attended by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The summit aims to bring together leaders and representatives of humanitarian organizations to explore ways to strengthen the international community's response to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
