Low pressure, rain, dust, and snow in the mountains: Weather in Cyprus on January 9
According to the Department of Meteorology of the Republic of Cyprus, on Monday, January 9, low pressure begins to affect the region.
Today, in the first half of the day, increased cloudiness is expected, bringing brief rains mainly to the west, mountains, and the southern coast. In the afternoon, variable cloudiness is expected, and the weather will become overcast, with possible showers and isolated thunderstorms in the west. Dust will be observed in the atmosphere from time to time. The wind will be mainly southwest, ranging from weak to moderate.
According to the meteorological forecast, the daytime air temperature today will rise to 20°C on the western and southwest coasts, up to 21°C in the inland areas and other coasts, and down to 10°C in mountainous regions.
By evening, a high increase in clouds is expected in the west, north, and mountains, bringing isolated rains and thunderstorms, with wet snow expected in mountainous areas. Dust will be observed in the atmosphere from time to time.
The air temperature will drop to approximately 7°C in inland areas, 9°C in the southeast and on the northern coast, 11°C on the rest of the coast, and 1°C in mountainous regions.
On Wednesday, the temperature will decrease even further, and no significant changes are expected on Thursday and Friday.
