Second National Guard Soldier in Cyprus Suffers Heatstroke This Week
The Republic of Cyprus has recorded a second case of heatstroke among National Guard soldiers this week. An 18-year-old special forces soldier has been hospitalized in critical condition.
According to preliminary reports, the young man fell ill while at the camp where he was serving. He was admitted to the intensive care unit at Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with symptoms of heatstroke.
The 18-year-old is currently in the ICU, and his condition is described as critical.
It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred last weekend involving a 17-year-old National Guard conscript. The young man suddenly felt unwell after morning exercise and lost consciousness.
On Monday, the teenager was flown to France by air ambulance for further treatment.
