Cyprus Police Enhances Security Measures Ahead of Kataklysmos
The Republic of Cyprus Police Force is ramping up security measures ahead of the upcoming three-day Kataklysmos festival, scheduled from June 22 to 24 across the country.
According to police statements, these measures include increased police presence on all roads and highways nationwide. The preventive actions aim to prevent traffic accidents, facilitate smooth traffic flow, and offer assistance to citizens traveling during the festival.
As part of the road safety efforts, intensified police checks will target traffic violations such as speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
With an anticipated rise in traffic volume on the road network, police are urging drivers to remain vigilant, adhere to traffic rules and signals, and comply with instructions from on-duty police officers.
Additionally, police are implementing extra measures to deter crime, particularly property-related offenses. These include heightened foot and motorized patrols and increased checks in both urban and rural areas.
Police are advising the public to take proactive steps to safeguard their property before leaving home or visiting recreational areas.
