Limassol Police to Increase Checks Ahead of Easter
In anticipation of Easter, patrols and targeted inspections will be intensified in Limassol. The police are concerned about the rise in teenage crime.
According to local media reports, special attention will be paid by the police to patrolling churches and their surroundings in preparation for the festive liturgy.
A meeting was held at the Limassol Police Headquarters involving all stakeholders on this issue. Police Director Andreas Angelidis expressed satisfaction with the spirit of cooperation shown by local and church authorities.
He also noted that police actions are ongoing, with increased monitoring in areas where incidents of teenage crime are observed.
Acknowledging that in many cases, offenses involve minors, the police chief urged parents and guardians to "take measures and better control their children to avoid undesirable situations."
