The US Embassy in Cyprus awards the International Women's Courage Award

The US Embassy in Cyprus has awarded the annual International Women's Courage Award. This year, the award was given to journalist Sevgül Uludağ for her work on the topic of “Disappearances.”

US Ambassador to Cyprus Julie Fisher presented the researcher with a certificate for her work on the issue of missing persons.

Julie Fisher noted that Sevgül Uludağ was nominated for the “International Women's Courage Award,” awarded by the US Department of State, for her efforts in searching for missing Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots.

The International Women's Courage Award (Uluslararası Cesur Kadınlar Ödülü) is an American award presented annually by the US Department of State to women around the world, who have shown exceptional courage and leadership in the fight for peace, justice, human rights, gender equality, and the expansion of women's and girls' rights and opportunities.
