Injured National Guard Recruit Transferred from Cyprus to France
Over the weekend, a 17-year-old National Guard recruit in Cyprus experienced a serious health incident. The young man suddenly felt unwell after a morning exercise session and lost consciousness.
Immediately following the incident, the teenager was taken to the general hospital in Larnaca. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later transferred to the intensive care unit in Nicosia.
Defense Minister Vasilis Palmas and National Guard Commander Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas visited him in the hospital. Both high-ranking officials are maintaining regular contact with President Nikos Christodoulides regarding the boy's health.
On Sunday, the teenager was flown to France via air ambulance for further treatment. The Ministry of Health has already completed all necessary procedures.
