President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola arrives in Cyprus
The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, is set to arrive in Cyprus on Monday evening for a two-day official visit.
It is expected that Roberta Metsola will arrive at the Presidential Palace on Monday at 19:50, where she will hold a private meeting with the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades.
On Tuesday, the head of the European Parliament, accompanied by the head of state, will visit Larnaca port to inspect the ongoing work of the Amalthea humanitarian aid corridor to Gaza.
Also on Tuesday, the politician will go to the House of Europe, where she will engage in dialogue with Cypriot Greeks and representatives of youth civil society organizations from among the Cypriot Greeks on the topic of European elections.
Then, Roberta Metsola will visit the parliament, where she will meet with the President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou.
Afterward, the President of the European Parliament and Nicos Anastasiades will visit the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) in Larnaca.
According to government spokesman Konstantinos Petrides, Roberta Metsola's visit once again demonstrates the European Union's active interest in the initiative, as efforts continue to increase the flow of humanitarian aid to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip.
