Drunk Passenger Causes In-Flight Disturbance on Jet2 Flight from Edinburgh to Larnaca
A Jet2 flight from Edinburgh to Larnaca was forced to make an emergency landing in Thessaloniki after a drunken passenger caused a scene onboard.
According to The Scottish Sun, the incident happened late Saturday evening. The disruptive passenger began yelling, claiming the cabin crew weren’t serving him quickly enough. He repeatedly pressed the call button, spoke rudely to the flight attendants, and insulted fellow passengers who tried to calm him down. At one point, he jumped from his seat and threatened to hit the person sitting next to him.
Due to the escalating situation, the pilots of flight LS721 requested an emergency landing at "Macedonia" Airport in Thessaloniki. Upon arrival, police officers boarded the aircraft and escorted the unruly man off the plane.
The flight resumed its journey to Cyprus at around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.
So far, Jet2 has not issued an official statement regarding the incident, which caused a delay to the scheduled flight.
