Drunk Driver Hits Woman at Limassol Intersection and Flees
A drunk driver in Limassol ran a red light, struck a 28-year-old woman at a pedestrian crossing, and fled the scene. He was apprehended shortly afterward.

According to the police, the accident occurred on Leontiou Street around 6:30 PM last evening.
The 63-year-old driver failed to stop at the red light and hit the young woman as she was crossing the road. Instead of stopping to help, he continued driving.
Authorities located him a short time later and brought him to the Limassol Traffic Police Department, where a breathalyzer test revealed his blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit.
The injured woman was taken to Limassol General Hospital by ambulance, where doctors determined she had sustained a minor head injury. As a precaution, she was admitted for further observation.
The 63-year-old driver is expected to face charges today, with a court summons to follow.
