Five people arrested for possession of 5.5 kilograms of drugs in Larnaca
Larnaca police have arrested a total of five individuals for possession of 5.5 kilograms of drugs. The illegal substances were seized last Saturday, with the last, fifth suspect apprehended on April 9.
According to the police press office, on Tuesday evening, around 20:30, a 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the drug possession case. The police obtained an arrest warrant based on witness statements.
Earlier in the investigation, four more individuals aged 19, 25, 33, and 54 were arrested in connection with the case. All of them are currently in custody.
The investigation began on Saturday evening after the police discovered a small amount of marijuana in the car of a 19-year-old boy.
During a search of his home, 2.6 kilograms of cocaine and 2.7 kilograms of cannabis were found. All seized illegal substances have been confiscated.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Larnaca Anti-Drug Unit.
