A worker from a natural gas extraction platform in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone to the southeast of the island was urgently airlifted to the American Medical Center for emergency treatment.

According to a statement from the hospital, early on the morning of Friday, March 7, the worker began experiencing severe abdominal pain. As a result, a quick evacuation to the American Medical Center was required. The Search and Rescue Operations Coordination Center immediately mobilized a Republic helicopter, which flew out to the platform, picked up the patient, and landed at the hospital's helipad.

The worker received immediate care from the medical staff at the center. After stabilizing the patient, treatment is continuing.
