In Cyprus, a six-month-old baby with a head injury was transported to various hospitals across the island in search of a functioning X-ray machine.

According to local media, the infant fell and struck his head. The baby's mother sought medical help, and the child was first taken to the general hospital in Paphos. However, the X-ray machine there was found to be out of order. The baby was then taken to Limassol, but an X-ray could not be performed there either, as the hospital lacked a specialist capable of administering anesthesia. Finally, the mother and baby were sent to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia, where it was determined that the baby had a skull fracture.

Reports indicate that the CT scanner at the Main Hospital in Paphos has been out of service since Monday due to a malfunction, and repairs have yet to be completed.

In emergency situations, the general hospital can arrange for imaging services at private clinics in Paphos, as well as at the private Mediterranean Hospital and the general hospital in Limassol.
