The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 concluded over the past weekend. Rapper Nemo (Nemo Mettler) from Switzerland emerged victorious with the song "The Code." Cyprus only secured the 15th spot.

The grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 took place in Malmo, Sweden, on the evening of May 11th. The Swiss rapper, with his song "The Code," became the first-ever winner of the international contest to identify as non-binary. In his song, he shares his journey to self-realization and acceptance of his own identity.

"I hope that this contest can live up to its promises and continue to advocate for peace and the dignity of every person in this world," said Nemo after receiving the Eurovision prize on stage.

Croatia took the second spot, with Ukraine rounding out the top three.

Israeli performer Idan Golan, aged 20, secured the fifth place despite calls from demonstrators to boycott Israel's participation.

17-year-old Cypriot contestant Silia Capsis secured the 15th spot with her song "Liar." In total, 25 countries participated in the final of the contest.

It's worth noting that Switzerland has won the Eurovision twice: in 1956 when the contest was held in the country, and in 1988 when Celine Dion represented the nation.
