Two People Rescued from Cliffs at Cape Greco

Cypriot firefighters have successfully rescued two individuals who became stranded on the cliffs at Cape Greco, in Ayia Napa. It remains unclear how they ended up there.

According to a post on platform X by Andreas Kettis, a representative of the fire department, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon, between the Agia Anna Giri area and Konnos Bay. The distress call was received by the Famagusta fire station at 3:56 PM, and a rescue team with specialized equipment was immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, the firefighters used rescue gear to safely bring the individuals to a secure location. They were then handed over to ambulance crews and taken to the emergency department of Famagusta General Hospital for medical evaluation. Their condition is currently unknown.

The rescue operation also involved a special disaster response unit (Emak). The Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) was informed, and the Port and Marine Police were placed on standby, ready to provide additional support if needed.
