The Speaker of the National Assembly of Slovenia is on an official visit to Cyprus
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Urška Klakočar-Zupančič, is on an official three-day visit to Cyprus at the invitation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou.
During the trip, the politician will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Konstantinos Kombos, the Minister of Justice, Marios Charalambous, the Mayor of Nicosia, Konstantinos Georgiadis, and the head of the UN peacekeepers, Colin Stewart.
On the agenda are bilateral relations between the two countries, inter-parliamentary cooperation, exchange of views on current European and international affairs. The Cyprus problem and efforts towards the reunification of the island will also be discussed.
Urška Klakočar-Zupančič will begin her visit with a meeting with members of the Slovenian community on the island in Limassol at the opening of an exhibition featuring renowned Slovenian artists from the private collection of the Honorary Consul of Slovenia.
On Thursday, the Slovenian delegation, which includes two members of the parliamentary friendship group, MPs Iva Dimich and Dušan Stoyanovich, will meet with the Chair of the Cyprus-Slovenia Friendship Group, Harris Georgiades, and other members of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs.
