Nicosia-Limassol Highway to Close for 10 Nights
Nighttime roadworks have commenced on the Nicosia-Limassol highway and will last from September 9 to September 19. Police are advising drivers to exercise caution during this period.
According to the Department of Public Works, the repairs will take place from 10:00 PM to 5:30 AM each night, covering the section from the Latsia weigh station to the Alikos River bridge in Pera Chorio Nisou, in both directions.
The work will involve installing new road markings. Two of the three lanes will be closed, and traffic will be rerouted to the remaining open lane.
Previously, it was announced that from Monday, September 9, until December 23, 2024, two lanes of the highway heading toward Limassol will be closed for a one-kilometer stretch near the Kalavasos bridge for repair and modernization work. Traffic will be diverted to the Nicosia-bound side of the highway, which will temporarily operate as a two-way road.
The Department of Public Works also mentioned that during the repairs, access to the Limassol-bound highway from the old road at the Zigi junction will be closed.
Vehicles from the old road will be redirected to the highway via the Governor's Beach interchange.
