One-Third of Students in Cyprus Have Tried Marijuana At Least Once
According to the 2024 European Drug Report, 32% of students in the Republic of Cyprus have experimented with marijuana at least once in their lives.
Greek media reported that the data was presented by Christos Minas, President of the Cyprus Addiction Treatment Authority.
The expert stated that 18% of students reported using cannabis in the past year, and another 11% admitted to smoking marijuana in the past month. Additionally, the report highlighted that cannabis seizures in 2023 amounted to 554 kg, marking an increase of over 200 kg compared to 2022 (348 kg).
The study also pointed out that cocaine is the most frequently used illicit stimulant in Europe, according to the 2024 European Drug Report.
It was previously reported that beer consumption in Cyprus has increased due to the heat.
