At the airports of Larnaca and Paphos, it was decided to tackle the long queues of arriving tourists during the summer period. Separate booths for passport control will be installed for citizens of the United Kingdom.

To combat congestion at airports, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Cyprus, Alexis Vafeiadis, has ordered the division of passport control booths into three groups. One will be intended for citizens of the European Union, the second for citizens of third countries, and the third for the largest group of tourists, citizens of the United Kingdom.

It is worth reminding that earlier it was reported that last year, Cyprus welcomed 3,845,652 tourists. The leader was the United Kingdom with 1,302,125 arriving travelers, followed by Israel with 410,607 arriving tourists.

It should be noted that after the United Kingdom's exit from the EU, citizens of this country are required to use the booths for third-country citizens at passport control.

It is expected that the decision to divide the queue for passport control into three groups will significantly accelerate this procedure and reduce the number of queues at airports.
