At Larnaca Airport, authorities have apprehended an internet scammer who was wanted in Germany
The man, suspected of connections with criminal organizations, was detained at Larnaca Airport, as reported by the police press service. The 39-year-old individual was taken into custody upon his arrival from a third country flight the previous evening. Initial information suggests the detention was prompted by an altercation.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the detained man was wanted by German authorities under a European arrest warrant. He is suspected of involvement in internet crimes, fraud, and association with criminal groups. These offenses were allegedly committed between 2019 and 2020 in Germany and Israel.
The apprehended man, subject to the arrest warrant, has been placed in custody. It is anticipated that he will appear before the Larnaca District Court today for extradition proceedings to be initiated by the German authorities.
