At Paphos Airport, another property owner in the TRNC has been detained.
The Cyprus Police arrested a 25-year-old property owner in the TRNC at Paphos Airport. The detained man is suspected of "usurping property of Greek Cypriots" located in the northern part of the island.
According to local media, the suspect was apprehended at the airport around noon the day before, as he was planning to fly to another European country.
The man has been taken into custody and is set to appear in court today for a detention order pending further investigation.
According to the police, the detainee is under investigation for fraudulent transactions involving foreign property, illegal possession and use of land registered to someone else, money laundering from illegal activities, and other crimes.
No further details about the detained foreigner, including his nationality, have been provided in the report.
It is worth noting that this is not the first instance of property owners in the TRNC and realtors working in Northern Cyprus being detained at Cypriot airports.
Previously, the appellate court rejected a bail application for a 49-year-old German national accused of selling property of Greek Cypriots in the TRNC.
Before that, an arrest warrant was issued for another German citizen residing in the TRNC.
