Seven-Year-Old Girl Drowns in Protaras Pool
A seven-year-old girl drowned in a pool in Paralimni. The child was pulled from the water unconscious, and despite medical efforts, she could not be saved.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Sunday around noon when the girl was found unconscious in a hotel pool in Protaras, where she was staying with her parents.
Emergency services transported her to Famagusta General Hospital in Paralimni for initial treatment. She was then transferred to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia.
During transport, she developed complications that required intubation and mechanical ventilation. The girl passed away in the intensive care unit of Makarios Hospital around 2:10 AM.
The Famagusta Crime Investigation Unit is looking into the circumstances surrounding the girl's unconsciousness in the hotel pool.
