IN HONOR OF TREE WEEK, TREE SAPLINGS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED FOR FREE IN NICOSIA
The Department of Forestry in Cyprus is gearing up for Tree Week. As part of the event, residents of Nicosia will receive free tree and shrub seedlings.
Tree Week will take place in Cyprus from November 26 to December 2. Various activities related to the environmental celebration will be held in different areas of the city.
The week will kick off on November 26 at 11:00 in the auditorium of the primary school "Kokkinotrimithia B." The event will be blessed by Bishop Chrysostom of Kyrenia, and the main speaker will be the Minister of Agriculture, Petros Xenophontos. The program will conclude with tree planting on the school grounds.
On the same day, November 26, starting at 10:00, the Department of Forestry will distribute tree and shrub seedlings to the public for free. The initiative will last for about an hour, with distribution points located at Eleftheria Square, Makarios Avenue, Atalassa Forest Park, the Academy, and Faneromeni Square.
Additionally, Tree Week events will take place in other districts, including primary schools in Ypsonas, Liopetri, and Stroumbi.
