A Greek Student Loses Her Life in Fatal Cyprus Car Accident
Over the weekend, Cyprus witnessed another tragic car accident with a fatal outcome. A 20-year-old Greek student lost her life in a crash caused by a drunk driver.
According to the police, the accident occurred around 3:10 a.m. on Sunday on Archangel Michael Avenue in Engomi, near a roundabout. The 20-year-old driver lost control of the car, which had six occupants at the time of the incident.
The victim, identified as 20-year-old Eirini Kontogiorgou, was sitting in the back seat with four others: three men aged 28, 21, and 20, and a 20-year-old woman.
Another passenger, a 20-year-old man in the front seat, sustained minor injuries and was discharged from the hospital after treatment.
The driver was arrested, and a breathalyzer test confirmed a significantly high level of alcohol in his blood, far exceeding the legal limit.
