A seven-year-old girl has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit after a road accident in Paphos. The child is undergoing treatment in the pediatric intensive care unit in Nicosia.

As reported by the assistant director of the Paphos police, the accident occurred on Thursday evening at 19:40. A 21-year-old permanent resident of Cyprus, driving a car, collided with a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old woman under unclear circumstances. In addition to the driver, her seven-year-old daughter and two other minors aged 14 and 7 were in the car.

The seven-year-old girl was taken to the pediatric intensive care unit in Nicosia with serious injuries. In addition, the 14-year-old teenager was taken for preventive treatment to the surgical department of a general hospital in Paphos.

The 30-year-old woman and her 7-year-old daughter were examined by doctors and then released as they did not sustain serious injuries.

The driver of the first car was also hospitalized in the surgical department of the main hospital in Paphos. A drug test conducted on the 21-year-old man yielded a negative result. The investigation into the causes of the accident continues.
