Large Quantity of Laughing Gas and Counterfeit Goods Seized in Famagusta and Ayia Napa
Cyprus police conducted special operations in Famagusta and Ayia Napa, resulting in the seizure of significant amounts of counterfeit products and laughing gas canisters.
During a joint raid by police and customs officers in Famagusta, three premises were searched, revealing 357 clothing items and accessories suspected to be counterfeit.
Additionally, authorities confiscated 35 packs of illegal cigarettes and 390 canisters of laughing gas (nitrous oxide). The canisters were transferred to the Ayia Napa police station, which conducted further investigations and seized another batch of laughing gas and related items.
According to the police, a total of 50 unused ampoules, five devices, a metal canister, and 25 balloons were discovered and confiscated.
The 35-year-old kiosk owner was arrested, questioned, and subsequently released pending the results of laboratory tests.
