In Famagusta, 282 traffic violations by quad bike riders were identified over three days
Over three days, 282 traffic violations were identified in the Famagusta province by quad bike drivers. Most complaints were related to driving without a protective helmet, not wearing seat belts, and ignoring traffic lights.
Officers from the Famagusta Traffic Police and Ayia Napa Police Station conducted checks on roads from July 12 to July 15. Raids were carried out in the morning from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM and in the evening from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
Of the 282 violations identified, 29 involved drivers and buggy and quad bike passengers riding without helmets, and another 18 violations were related to not using seat belts.
Additionally, 66 alcohol tests were conducted using a breathalyzer, with 4 yielding positive results.
"The ADE Famagusta campaign to prevent and address road traffic incidents involving quad bikes and buggies will continue throughout the summer season," police noted.
