Limassol Resident Robbed of €100,000 on Christmas Eve
A Limassol resident fell victim to a robbery during a cryptocurrency exchange on Christmas Eve, losing €100,000. Police have arrested one suspect, while the second is still at large.
According to a police report, the victim, a 32-year-old man, stated that he had arranged to meet two individuals on Tuesday afternoon to complete a cryptocurrency transaction.
During the exchange, while they were inside his car, one of the suspects suddenly struck the victim on the head and snatched a bag containing the money. The attacker then fled the scene.
The victim, however, managed to apprehend the second suspect until law enforcement arrived. The detained individual, a 31-year-old man, was arrested on the spot. Meanwhile, the second suspect, who escaped with the stolen cash, remains at large. Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate him.
